Scott is the Chief Executive Officer of PropertyShares. Scott’s responsibilities include strategic planning for the company as well as overseeing deal underwriting and investor fundraising across the platform. A long time serial entrepreneur with 4 startups under his belt, Scott started his career as an Aerospace Engineer working on projects for the European Space Agency, NASA and Airbus, before starting his first company. After spending many years in Silicon Valley gaining experience in fund raising, growth hacking, strategic partnerships and marketing, Scott returned to Australia to start PropertyShares. An avid Property Investor, Scott has seen how difficult investing in property can be and wants to make it easier for everyone to invest in Australian real estate.
A highly regarded Melbourne business leader with over 25 years experience in the banking and financial services industry, Scott Tanner previously lead the Bank of Melbourne as CEO. Prior to this, Scott was a Director at global business consulting firm Bain & Company, where he held a number of senior leadership roles during his 15 year tenure, including Head of Bain’s Melbourne Office and forged significant experience in international finance markets while at Bain, leading the firm’s Asia Pacific Financial Services Practice for six years from 2000. Before joining Bain, Scott was Head of Strategic Marketing at NAB where he led the strategic analytic engine within the Australian Group. He is a Director of Tennis Australia, a Trustee of Melbourne Olympic Parks Trust, and a Fellow of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.
Gary has a 32 year banking career and financial services experience. He has held senior positions as Head of Credit and Risk at Bank of Melbourne and has spent the last 9 years as Senior Manager in the Westpac Commercial Property Credit Group. Gary has led high performing teams of credit managers across commercial property centres to deliver quality credit risk decisions that are soundly based, involve appropriate research and analysis and that reflect the financial institutions' current policies and underwriting standards. This is achieved with overall accountability for the ongoing monitoring of business risk and portfolio management.
Victor has over 25 years experience in the financial services sector. During his professional career, Victor has been the Chief Financial Officer for the Australian Wealth Management division of leading international organisations including Citigroup and Morgan Stanley, overseeing 300 employees and $28 billion in assets under management (AUM). During this time, he was involved in expanding the business through multiple acquisitions as well as implementing organic growth initiatives. Victor is professionally experienced in mergers and acquisitions, performance analysis, financial management reporting, statutory reporting, governance, audit responsibilities, compliance, risk management, stakeholder management, human resources, information technology and legal as well as driving corporate strategy. He is a Fellow member of the Certified Practising Accountants and has also completed his Series 7 license exam for US securities.
Sophia has over 20 years experience in the financial services industry especially in the property and funds management sectors. She has worked in large established wealth management groups that manage $10b+ in funds and has also implemented growth strategies and built bespoke operations from the bottom up. As a Director of financial services companies in the past, responsibilities included capital raisings both domestically and offshore, marketing, operations and service both in large organisations with several billion under management and independent firms. Sophia helps drive growth strategies and manages relationships and alliances with key industry stakeholders and individual investors. With her knowledge in behavioural science she uses this lens when considering the waves of disruptive technology that are unfolding, how services are delivered to our clients, engagement of partners and how clients prefer to invest.
Kulraj is the Head of Development and Distribution at PropertyShares. With over 12 years experience as a senior financial markets advisor, Kulraj has worked for some of the largest financial institutions both domestically and abroad including: CBA Private Bank, Macquarie Group, Citigroup Smith Barney and Commerzbank IB. He holds RG146 and ADA1 certificates and has managed client portfolios in excess of $100M for High Net Worths, Ultra High Net Worths, Family Offices and Institutional investors. Kulraj is also an active startup investor and represented England at a national sporting level.
Fahad is the Head of Technology at PropertyShares. He is responsible for the in-house development of the technology behind the entire PropertyShares investment platform. With over 10 years experience developing web applications Fahad has extensive experience building trading and commercial systems for banking and financial institutions. He has been a member of global software teams and has held the position of Development Manager for the Silicon Valley startup KNO which was acquired by Intel. He has also been the Principle of his own Software development firm with over 20 engineers which has built software applications across Asia, Europe, the US and Australia. Fahad holds a B.Sc. in Computer Science (Hons.).
Anthony is the in house Legal Counsel at PropertyShares. Anthony is responsible for sourcing and underwriting the due diligence of all properties on the platform and coordinating with external due diligence partners. Having completed a Bachelor of Commerce with Majors in Finance and Economics and also a Bachelor of Laws, Anthony went on to specialise in Property Law and Commercial Litigation. Anthony is uniquely positioned with expertise in bankruptcy and insolvency to manage projects when they don’t go according to plan. Anthony is also the Principal at Pelham Lawyers which specialises in Multi-Unit Developments, Strata Lending and Borrowing.
Harry is the Lead Partner of the Hall and Wilcox's Financial Services practice. Harry's practice focuses extensively on financial services managed investment schemes, both retail and wholesale, listed and unlisted, including property funds and syndicates, private equity funds, hedge funds, domestic and international securities funds, mortgage funds, structured products; financial services advice including licensing and product disclosure; product disclosure statement and prospectus preparation; Corporations Act, ASIC Act, National Consumer Credit and ASX Listing Rules advice;
AML/CTF programs and advice.
Harry has been recognised in the 2014 Best Lawyers in Australia published by the Australian Financial Review, in corporate/governance.
Eugene has a broad range of financial services, anti-money laundering, corporate and commercial and taxation experience with a focus on financial services and China transactions. Eugene acts for a wide range of businesses including fund managers, investment advisors, stock brokers, financial planners, finance providers and finance brokers. Eugene has also acted for Chinese state owned enterprises and large private businesses and high net wealth investors in international transactions. Eugene has extensive experience in financial services licensing, anti-money laundering legislation as well as the national consumer credit protection legislation.
